The Anointing

The mere term Holy Spirit and Anointing frightens many people because they do not understand the meaning.  Anoint means to smear or rub with oil to consecrate, to set aside, to show appointment.  “God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power to do good and heal all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with Him.”  If Jesus was anointed, every born again believer should be in filled with Holy Ghost power. In Hebrew, Messiah means anointed, in Greek, Christ means anointed and Jesus means Savior, therefore we serve a Savior Anointed or Anointed Savior.  We are called Christian not because we are followers of Christ but because we are anointed. When you are anointed, God is with you.

We should not be satisfied with just being saved! God has a plan for us and it requires us to be filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  That plan is to support and build up the Kingdom body.  In order to work in ministry we must be anointed to effectively bring about lasting change.

Time has come for the church to receive, and operate in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  “Jeremiah said it is like fire shut up in my bones.”  The anointing puts us in position to receive spiritual gifts, testify and discern truth, destroy yokes, and helps us to live righteous.

The anointing makes the difference in our life.
