The holiday season is in full affect; people are making plans, visiting families and loved ones, and shopping.  For many the holiday season is not as cheerful. There are those who are homeless, hungry, oppressed, and depressed because of the commercialism of the season, with many not being able to provide a present. The best present you can give is your presence. God’s gift to man was Jesus born in a manger to a virgin mother, Christ the Savior is born.  He was born to save us from sin.  His earthly life was only thirty-three years, but the perfect sacrifice Jesus gave was his life that we may live again.  During this holiday season, remember Jesus came to set the captive free. You do not have be down in the dumps because the gift of salvation is free. Make this the season of giving!  If you see someone hungry, feed them;  if they are homeless, help them find shelter.  Remember even the King of kings did not have anywhere to lay His head.

Everyday is a day of thanksgiving!  Do not forget to let God know how thankful you are.  “In everything give thanks for this is the will God in Christ Jesus for you.”  We have so much to be thankful for that we just can not tell it all.  Jesus is the reason for the season! Always keep Jesus in Christmas. He was born, died, rose again, and is coming back in an undisclosed time just for you and me.  Will you be ready? When I look around and see all that God has done, I won't complain.  I’m just thankful that he has allowed me this moment in time.

This is a great time of celebration, “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord.” “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
