Mothers

Many women and young girls are under the misconception that just because you are able to give birth it makes you a mother.  Motherhood is a ministry, one that should not be taken likely.  It calls for a mother to be available, involved, a teacher, trainer, disciplinarian, a model of integrity, and character.  The ministry of motherhood does not end at the age of eighteen it is a life long calling.  Therefore, before a woman decides to take on the role, they should be very sure, able, and willing to fulfill all the requirements.

Elkannah had two wives, Hannah was barren and Peninnah had sons and daughters.  Peninnah would often remind Hannah of barrenness causing her to cry and not eat.  Elkannah tried to comfort her by saying, “am I not better to you than ten sons?" These words were ignored because Hannah was not content with her current situation.  “There are three things that are never satisfied, four never say, “enough!”; the grave, the barren womb, the earth that is not satisfied with water - and the fire never says, “enough"!  The eye that mocks his father, and scorns obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, and the young eagles will eat it.”  Hannah made her request known to the Lord. “And whatever things you ask in prayer believing and you will receive.”   Hannah birthed a son and named him Samuel.  She understood motherhood, went beyond its calling, and offered her son for a lifetime ministry to the Lord.

Mothers love hard, they provide and protect until the very end.  Many have prayed and cried, and cried and prayed if so make your request known to God, nobody can do you like Jesus.  The ministry of motherhood is a rewarding one with the help of The Holy Spirit you will be successful.   If you have a living mother take time out to say I love you.  Good mothers are hard to find so “Honor your father and mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God is giving you.”
