Inward Struggles

We are constantly battling with inward struggles.  How many times have you managed to smile but on the inside, you struggle with issues, with the cares of the world, good and bad, and many of these struggles try to control our daily life.  We as Christians must learn how to bring the flesh under subjection through fasting and praying.  Paul here deals with a critical issue in Christians living the relationship with God’s law.  “Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law because the law is good”.  The law reveals what sin is but we must separate the sin.  “Wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.  The law is not death but sin.

Since we are children of the king, the flesh does not like what we have become, a new creation in Christ.  Therefore, the flesh wars against the spirit trying to keep us in bondage.  We have to be determined that I am not going back; letting nothing separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.   Why is it when we try to do well but do not do it, yet we do those things that we hate and we do not understand why?  Then we figure it out through the Holy Spirit that it is because of the inward sin and passion. As a Christian, we have the ability to sin but we should not have the desire, our appetite should be for holiness and righteousness. “Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world”.

O wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from this body of death?  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taps into the power supply of the Holy Spirit and He will see you through.
