Commitment

What is it about commitment that makes it bad? Is it the fact that you will be held accountable and obligated yourself?  When you think about it, people are doing it right now. We are committed to jobs, addictions, credit cards, relationships, and some people are committed to do nothing at all.  This year you choose whom you will serve and make a commitment to Jesus, “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”  In order to commit to the church and the work of the church, one must be committed to the head of the church Jesus Christ.  Jesus requires a commitment! When we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead we will be saved, that is the beginning of a committed lifestyle in Jesus.  This life style is 24/7, 52 weeks and 365 days a year. It does not come with an on or off switch where you turn it on Sunday and turn it off on Monday.
God is committed to our salvation. He gave His only begotten Son, the Son gave His life that we may have fellowship, relationship, and eternal life. Jesus committed Himself to prepare a place for us in glory, He’s committed to coming back again, and He’s committed to our healing, finances, and family. What more do we want Him to do?  All Jesus requires of us is that we serve Him with gladness, worship in spirit and truth, trust, love, and obey His teachings and heaven will be our home.

Me and my house we will serve the Lord, what about yours?
